What Ignite Means to Me

January 14, 2014

Guest blog by a Cycle 36 Apprentice

I am writing this to show how much Ignite Adult Learning Corporation has not only changed my life, but also my family’s life in such a short period of time.

When I first applied to the program at Ignite, I never in my wildest dreams expected it to be what it is today. It is not just a school or a place for people with addictions (which I have heard people say), it is a place where you learn how to find yourself and become who you want to be. It offers many other programs too, which is a bonus, but mostly this place feels like a family to me; my co-workers and especially the staff.  I have never in my life felt as free to talk to the staff here about anything, and I mean anything, without ever being judged and the support I get from them is more support than I have ever had in my life.

The experience that I am learning here and the values are not only helping me become the person I want to be but it is also shaping the life of my children and my parents. I have seen so much change in them as well. I would like to take this time to thank, from the bottom of my heart, my co-workers for supporting me, my facilitators for believing in me, Carlo for giving me the opportunity to choose to change my life and the funders for supporting my dreams.

There are truly no words that could ever explain how much you all have touched my heart and changed my life!
